We Built a Podcast. Here's How We're Building the Audience Together

At Dextall, we believe the most valuable conversations in construction happen on the job site, in design meetings, and across project teams — not in press releases. That belief is why we launched Beyond the Build, a podcast dedicated to the real stories behind complex projects and the people who make them happen.
Each episode features an in-depth conversation with an architect, engineer, developer, contractor, or innovator from across the construction industry. The topics are specific, the guests are experienced, and the conversations are real.
If you’ve been a guest on the show — or are thinking about joining — here’s exactly how we promote every episode, and what we’d love your help with to help the conversation reach the people who need to hear it.
What Every Episode Covers
Beyond the Build covers the full breadth of what it takes to deliver a building — from early design through to final construction. Topics include façade engineering and building envelopes, prefabrication and modular construction, complex project delivery, and the technology changing how buildings get built.
Beginning in 2026, the podcast is also expanding into project feature episodes: multi-part stories built around a single project, from initial design conversations through to construction and delivery. These episodes may include jobsite walkthroughs, interviews
with multiple project team members, and on-site footage that captures what it actually looks like to build something complex.
How We Promote Every Episode
When an episode goes live, our team promotes it across every channel we have. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
• LinkedIn post announcing the episode, with the guest tagged directly
• Promotion on the Dextall company LinkedIn page, reaching our full professional network
• Short-form video clips and audio highlights pulled from the episode
• Newsletter inclusion to our subscriber base
• Continued sharing and reposts over the weeks and months following release
The Only Ask: Help Us Share It
Being a guest on Beyond theBuild is completely free. There is no cost, no required equipment, and no prior podcast experience needed. The only thing we ask is simple: when your episode goes live, help share it with your network.
Here’s how to do it in a way that actually makes a difference:
1. Engage with the LinkedIn Post
When we post the episode announcement on LinkedIn, please like or comment on it. This is more important than it might seem: LinkedIn’s algorithm measures engagement from the people tagged in a post. When you interact with it, the platform shows the episode to a significantly larger audience — often reaching people neither of us would reach on our own.
2. Share the Episode on Your Personal LinkedIn
A personal post with your own takeaways from the conversation performs better than a simple reshare. Add a few sentences about what you enjoyed discussing or what you’d want your network to know about the episode. Tag SteveStafford, Dextall, and Beyond the Build in the post so we can reshare and amplify your reach.
3. Post from Your Company Page
Your company’s LinkedIn page has its own following — clients, partners, future hires, and peers who follow your firm’s work. Sharing the episode from your company page reaches a professional audience that won’t necessarily see it through your personal profile, and it positions your team as people worth listening to.
4. Add It to Your Media or Press Page
Many guests choose to feature their Beyond the Build appearance in the Featured section of their LinkedIn profile, on their company’s media or press page, or in their firm’s news section. This keeps the episode working for you long after the initial release, and it signals to potential clients or collaborators that you’re someone who shares knowledge publicly.
5. Repurpose the Content
If you want to go further, we can provide the raw audio or video files for you to create your own content —clips, blog posts, or social content built around the conversation. We simply ask that you tag Beyond the Build or link back to the original episode so the audience connects back to the source.
Why It Matters
The construction industry is full of expertise that never gets shared publicly. Projects get completed, lessons get learned, and then that knowledge stays inside the firm. Beyond theBuild exists to change that.
Every time a guest shares their episode, the industry gets a little more of that expertise. Other professionals hear about approaches they hadn’t considered. Younger practitioners learn from people who have built the kinds of projects they want to work on. The conversation grows.
For guests, sharing the episode is also a genuine professional asset. A well-placed LinkedIn post about a podcast appearance regularly drives connection requests, new conversations, and project inquiries. It shows up in search. It stays on your profile indefinitely.
Want to Be on the Show?
If you’re an architect, engineer, developer, contractor, façade consultant, or manufacturer working on projects worth talking about, we’d love to have you on. The conversation is remote, informal, and completely free. The only requirement is that you have a project or experience worth sharing.
